I liked the texture on this one. It resembled writing in the sand at the beach and it brought back good memories.
The piece here I believe is a wolf. The gallery itself were all based on wolves. It looked like a scary monster from a nightmare to me. DeSantis stated that the theme of this gallery was to explore and expand on pieces. There’s more than one meaning behind the pieces and obviously so because there are different interpretations depending on the person.
David DeSantis is currently a senior, working towards hi BFA degree in CSULB School of Art’s printmaking program. On his free time DeSantis snowboarding and going to music festivals. He actually listens to dubstep, his favorite music genre, while he works on his art. I found that interesting because a lot of the dubstep songs I know do not have a lot of words and are mostly beats, and the beats alone are mood makers. So in a way, the music is a catalyst of creativity.
I really enjoyed his pieces, especially because they were based on wolves. But before I knew that, the pieces really made me think and wonder what the artist’s message was.
